Rock Hill Trails: A High Quality, Sustainable Community.

Amenities

Something for everyone.

Community Center

Planned for construction in the later stage of Phase 1, the community center will serve as a gathering place for traditional community functions like property owners’ meetings and community parties, and will be available for the residents to reserve for private functions. It will also be designed to host events such as farmers markets and provide a venue for ongoing education about sustainable practices through partnerships with public and private entities.

Community Gardens

Planned for the early stage of Phase 2, the community gardens will be available to all residents. The goal is to have irrigation needs met using harvested rain water. The gardens will also serve as a focal point for community building and provide an opportunity to learn about sustainable practices.

Adjacent to Belk Park

The western edge borders Wood River’s Belk Park, which contains a popular public golf course and recreational facilities.

Common Space and Trail System

Approximately 40% of the property developed in
Phase 1 will be preserved as community common space protected from future development by the Rock Hill Trails indentures. Every single lot in Phase 1 has direct access to the approximately 27 acres of common area. The 2.6 mile hybrid network of trails and sidewalks can take you just about anywhere in the community and is designed to connect with the future phases. Whether you want to take a stroll on the nature trails through the rich canopy of old growth trees by the creeks, go to the park with the kids, walk through the prairie and wetland areas to see the butterflies and flowering native plants, or walk to the future residential commercial area for a cup of coffee, you can get there by using the trails and sidewalks. Now something as mundane as getting the mail becomes an opportunity to explore nature, run into fellow community members, or just take a few minutes away from the pressures of
the day.

Plans for future Phases 2 & 3 contain similar percentages of open space.
